History Casa Mia Ranch is a 501c3 corporation established in February 2002. The organization provides programs based on equine-assisted psychotherapy and adventure-based counseling, which engages individuals in activities and settings proven to restore a sense of purpose and quality of life. Our programs are carried out in a therapeutic environment located on a ranch on the edge of the Gila National Forest, in southwestern New Mexico. Casa Mia Ranch is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. Day-to-day operations are under the leadership of CMRs two co-founders, Steven Robinson, Executive Director and Marisol Montoya, Director of Development. Since its inception, CMR has grown from a staff of two (the Executive Director and Director of Development) to six. In addition to the executive director-- who also serves as the head equine and adventure therapy facilitator - direct service staff includes two additional facilitators, one part-time horse caregiver, two subcontracted Masters-level licensed therapists, and volunteers. |
